9 Things to Eliminate from Your Life Before the New Year

The New Year is around the corner and there are several things you need to accomplish like throwing a party, preparing gifts and setting resolutions. However, the secret of starting a new year right is to eliminate clutter from your life. Grudges, guilt and yesterday’s problems have no place in a new year, yet many of us can’t let go of them and the next year becomes as miserable and unsuccessful as the previous one. 2016 is going to be a fantastic year if you get rid of all these things in 2015.
Things to Eliminate from Your Life Before the New Year

1. Fear

This powerful feeling can tear even the happiest people apart. The fear of the unknown, the fear of being judged, the fear of criticism, the fear of loneliness, the fear of death and many other types of fear that people fail to recognize make our lives unbearable. Get rid of any fear you have and 2016 will be the best year for you.

2. False beliefs

Don’t wrap your mind around things that don’t matter. Don’t try to fit false beliefs into your version of reality. If your beliefs don’t make you feel motivated, empowered and strong, they are false. Eliminate them from your life before the New Year and focus on what matters more.

3. Money woes

If you feel stuck in a dead-end job that causes more troubles than improves your financial prosperity, consider finding a new job in a new year. If you have any debts, think about the ways to pay them off. Stress of money is a common thing, but unfortunately people spend too much time worrying about their financial woes.

4. Temper

Leave your nasty temper in 2015, and start a new year with a calm temper. If you have a tendency to lose jobs, friends and opportunities because of your temper, it’s time to learn how to control it. You have two weeks to change your temper so that you ring in the New Year with brand new you.

5. Being a people-pleaser

You are always ready to show up for anyone in need. You are ready to fly across the country to help your friend. You are ready to spend the whole night trying to do the project your coworker should actually do. But when you need some sort of help, everyone has their own businesses. If this sounds familiar to you, you are a people-pleaser. In 2016, you have to learn how to be a bit selfish and take care of yourself first.

6. Staring and comparing

Your uniqueness is what makes you different. Everyone can follow the crowd but only few can be who they are. There’s always someone better than you. You can be better than your friend and your sibling can be better than you. And what? Is this the end of the world? Spending your life comparing yourself to others has no sense. It’s not living – it’s surviving.

7. Anger

Bringing anger and resentment into the new year is an easy way to ruin the next year of your life. Anger is a short madness. Don’t let this madness control you. Let go of it. Forgive those who hurt you. Forgive those who didn’t meet your expectations. Don’t dwell on them. They owe you nothing.

8. The needless burden

No matter how many mistakes you made and what problems you had this year, they are in the past. Let go of the needless burden. Forgive yourself. It may be painful but start again. Don’t look back. Move forward. Nothing is as rewarding as living a stress-free life. This is possible only if you don’t worry about yesterday’s troubles.

9. Little trifles

Boss’s bad mood, gossips, a lack of money, a small house, an old car, an outdated smartphone, a bad Internet connection etc. are all little trifles. Human being doesn’t have to have a lot to be happy. You have food, roof over your head, and people you love. Money and expensive things bring temporary happiness. I spent almost 5 years worrying about money. I fell asleep and woke up with the only thought in my head – “where to get more money.” I though I was miserable. It took so much time to finally realize that I don’t need a lot to live a better life. In 2016, let’s get rid of a habit of worrying about little trifles, including money.

Letting go is the hardest part of personal growth. 2016 is the perfect time to start a new story and find a new passion. In truth, 2015 was one of my hardest years ever. I’m a bit happy that it’s coming to the end and I have a wonderful opportunity to turn over a new leaf. I believe the new year will be better than 2015 because I’m already trying to let go of the past, and the needless burden that prevents me from finding my true calling. What are the things that you need to let go?
