Nowadays many people stay in unhealthy relationships without even realizing it. A healthy relationship is something many people strive for. If you are in a long-term relationship now, you may want to know some sure signs your relationship is healthy and on the right track. We often take our relationships for granted and we often stay in unhealthy relationships because of fear of being alone. However, it’s important to realize whether or not you are happy in your relationship so that you don’t regret later. Without further ado, here are 7 sure signs you are in a healthy relationship:

1. You don’t wear a mask

If you can be yourself when you spend time with your partner, it’s one of the signs you are in a healthy relationship. Your partner loves you for who you are and he accepts all your drawbacks without complaining about them. You, in turn, love him and all his imperfections. Both of you realize that no one is perfect and there’s no need to pretend and wear masks when you spend time together. But if you feel uncomfortable and criticized, it’s time to reconsider your relationship. If your partner always reminds you of your imperfections, it’s not a healthy relationship, remember it.

2. You can trust each other

If the two of you can trust each other, you are in a happy relationship. Trust is a fragile thing. Trust is actually essential in every relationship. If you always have to hide something from your partner, it’s a warning sign. If your partner trusts you and loves you, then you need to learn how to trust him. Opening yourself up to your partner isn’t easy, especially if you’ve been together for a short period of time, but you can’t live together without trusting each other.

3. You spend a lot of time together

A busy schedule is just an excuse to avoid spending time together. If you or your partner have a busy schedule but you see each other every day and spend a lot of time together, you may be in a happy relationship. You and your loved one should never allow your jobs come between you. Both of you should nourish your relationship daily, or your relationship will fail in a while.

4. You have personal space

Just because you are in a relationship doesn’t mean you should always spend your free time with your partner. You need to grow as an individual and you need some me time too. If your partner controls every your move, your relationship isn’t healthy at all. If you control your partner, you should break this habit right now. Your partner needs some personal space too. If he wants to spend this evening with his friends, don’t get upset and don’t start crying. Spend this evening with your friends or read a good book instead. If both of you have personal space, it’s a good sign!

5. You make each other happy every day

When you are in a healthy relationship, you make each other happy every day. You say ‘I love you,’ ‘I miss you,’ ‘Sorry,’ and ‘Thank you’ and you don’t take your partner and relationship for granted. Many couples broke apart because of the pride. Don’t let your pride ruin your happy relationship. Appreciate your partner and show him that you love him as often as possible. Just make sure that he loves you and appreciates you as you do.

6. You support each other

In a happy relationship, it’s very important that you and your partner support each other and be happy for each other’s success. If your paycheck is higher than your partner’s paycheck and if you are more successful than him, make sure both of you are happy about it. One day, your partner can become more successful than you, so don’t tell him that he is a non-achiever. In a happy relationship, there’s no place for envy and competition. Encourage each other and achieve your goals together. If you support each other even in the worst situations, you are lucky to be in a healthy relationship.

7. Both of you know what’s happening in your lives

If you know everything about your partner’s job, his schedule, problems at work and his biggest goals, and if you partner knows what’s happening in your life, you are in a healthy relationship. It’s okay to discuss these things at the end of the day. If you don’t care about your partner’s job or he doesn’t care about your achievements at work, there’s something wrong with your relationship.
