5 Tips on How to Have a Sweet Dream

Kate Gitman 6 months ago - in Health & Fitness

Alright, girly! Now I’m sure you know getting those hours of beauty sleep in are going to do you good, but what about what’s in those hours, huh? Sure, we won’t be pulling any Ellen Page stunts from “Inception” but we can still have just as much fun!

Now here are some tips to get Mr.Sandman turning on his magic beam!

1. Keep a dream journal

What does this have to do with sweet dreams? Well, you need to actually remember your dream in order to have a sweet one! How do you do this? Start a dream journal, my trick is to keep it right next to my bed so as soon as I get up, I get writing. DON’T WAIT! You’ll remember most of your dream as soon as you wake up!

2. Keep your electronics away!

There’s nothing worse than being woken up from that perfect moment in your dream where Mr.Right finally comes and says you’re the one (you know what I’m talking about). Now unless you need to be woken up in the morning, make sure your alarms are off, cellphones are on silent (or vibrate if you’re not a light sleeper), and your television is OFF. Now if you NEED to wake up, then do it right, go to sleep early enough for your REM cycles to continue on!

3. No midnight snacks!

Bummer right? WRONG, well aside from the amount of weight you could gain from eating snacks before bed alone, eating before bed could actually give you nightmares! Don’t believe me? Here’s the study, you take a gander at that!

4. Think sweetly, silly!

Sure, life can be mighty stressful at times but that shouldn’t stop you! But you can’t have a nice dream if your brain is full of those gray clouds!

5. Don’t move

No, really- don’t. If you happen to wake up right in the middle of saying “I do” to Mr.Right and you just want to hop back into that dream bubble again, then here’s what you do. Stay still, clear your mind and close your eyes!

So those are your tips, leave some comments! Tell me what you’re thinking. Most of all, sweet dreams!
