7 Important Things to Do during the Summer Season
Summer is my favorite and the most beautiful season of the year. It’s the time when you wake up and have a good mood for no reason. The magic rays of summer sun can heal pain, sorrow or apathy and infuse our hearts with hope and desire to live with a smile on the face. Unfortunately, this miracle usually flies away in the twinkling of an eye. You should hurry up and make an action plan, because the summer has already knocked on the door.
Some people say that living according to the plan is a bit boring and predictable thing, but I don’t completely agree with this point of view. I’m not the master of improvisation and I believe that our plans and desires can fill the summertime with colorful events, joy, pleasure and adventures as well.
People who work during the summer season are limited in their time and actions. Others cannot leave their comfort zone, because they’re used to pass their leisure time in a passive way. They’re just not brave and cool-hearted enough to make instantaneous decisions.
All modern people should plan their summer vacation in advance. It will give them an opportunity to manage summertime effectively and get mentally ready to unforgettable adventures and everything they’re going to do during summer season. Here are some of the most important things to accomplish this summer.
1. Thorough cleaning
If you think that thorough cleaning is not the best way to start your summer, then you’re mistaken. This challenging activity requires a lot of willpower, but you won’t regret, because it’s extremely beneficial. Feng Shui masters recommend people to start every stage of life from the purification of personal space of negative energies and odd things. It’s hard to believe but every item in your house carries either positive or negative information and exerts a big influence on your subconscious mind.
Get rid of all things, photos and thoughts that make you feel anxious and even depressed. I usually find it difficult to throw away unnecessary things. It often seems to me that many of them will come in handy in future. But I understand that by cluttering up my house, I surround myself with things that make me think about the past too much.

2. Say no to gadgets
Recently, I watched an extremely interesting and cognitive documentary film by Florian Opitz, ‘Speed: In Search of Lost Time.’ That film was dedicated to the problem of a modern fast-paced world. According to the statistics and information mentioned in the film, nowadays millions of city dwellers cannot reach happiness, because they suffer from chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome and lead sedentary lifestyles due to the work-flow automation. No one can answer how to solve this problem and turn backwards the process of automation.
As a sagacious person, I understand that it’s almost impossible to wave goodbye to electronic technologies once and for all and remain an insider at the same time. You’ve got to choose whether you cooperate with technologies or with the nature. If you cannot imagine your life without electronic technologies, then you should take a rest from big amounts of information, constant responsibilities and challenging work situations at least once a year.
Summer is the perfect time to make the dream of an exhausted city dweller a reality. In summer you can walk barefoot on a grass, spend more time outdoors and listen to the birds’ songs. These are the best ways to connect with the nature and improve your overall well-being.
3. Discover your creative side
Dedicate at least a few summer days to creativity. Try to write a short poem or a song about human feelings, joy, romance and other important things. It won’t be difficult, because summer is the season of breathtaking moments and wonderful emotions that can serve as your inspiration.
If you find yourself a creative personality, why not take an advantage of this magic season? Try yourself in different roles, take part in concerts and it will give you a chance to unleash your creative potential and express your feelings. Do you know all your talents? Sure, you don’t, because many of your capabilities are sleeping somewhere in the depth of your mind. They’ll remain unknown until you take certain steps to define them.
4. Take lots of photos
In summer, it’s crucially important to have a camera close at hand, because these three months consist mostly of happy miracles and adventures. No matter whether you’re photogenic or not, you should get rid of all stereotypes and take a great number of interesting and colorful pictures of your summer pastime. Try to take one photo a day and you’ll be able to make a huge photo album called ‘My Happy Summer (Year).’ If you have a chance to visit an island, you should certainly take lots of photos of its might and beauty. These warm pictures will give you comfort over the years.
Furthermore, one day you may turn this little habit into a hobby and start earning money as a photographer. My friend started her career photographing the waves. In a quite short period of time, she became an experienced and successful underwater photographer. Now she’s the happiest person in the world, because she’s in love with her job.

5. Eat as much fruits and vegetables as possible
It’s been proved that people who consume more fruits and vegetables usually have better health and live longer. If you want to be one of them, try to replace junk food with delicious and healthy alternatives. Eating fruits and vegetables is the best healthy alternative that will certainly fill your weak and already exhausted body with a wide range of all necessary nutrients.
Dietitians recommend people to eat not less than 4-5 varieties of fruits and vegetables every day during the whole year. It’s easier to indulge yourself with fresh fruits in summer, because during this season everything is much cheaper and healthier. I’ve made it a tradition to buy and enjoy the taste of at least one exotic fruit every summer. If you want to do the same, you should be sure that you’re not allergic to foods, because some fruits you’ve never eaten before can cause an allergy or play a low down trick with your stomach.
6. Visit an amusement park
Believe it or not, many people are so busy these days that they forget what an amusement park is. You may think visiting the park is not as important as accomplishing a project, but when was the last time you actually spent a day in any of local amusement parks? Amusement park, positive company and sunny summer days are a wonderful therapy against bad mood, negative thoughts and chronic anxiety.
I’m sure every modern adult wants to forget about all responsibilities or problems, turn into a child and spend at least one evening in a magic world, full of amusement rides, pleasure and happiness. In summer you have a chance to make this cherished dream come true.
If you hesitate to go to amusement park without kids, you can take your nephew or your best friend with her children and plunge into the ocean of joy together. Did you know that roller coasters are perfect confidence boosters? If you dare to ride one of the most dangerous roller coasters, you’ll get rid of your fears once and for all. Just make sure you have a strong and healthy heart.
7. Enjoy long night walks
Night is the best time to live your life to the fullest, break the rules and start new adventures. I love fresh summer nights, because they make my heart beat faster. Once a week I meet my friends and we have a good night’s time regardless of anything. We don’t drink any alcohol, though. We simply walk and enjoy the beauty of the city that never sleeps.
Don’t wait until this beautiful summer will fade away. Do your best to fill it with bright moments and positive emotions, because you’re the only captain of your life ship. This summer will definitely change your life for the better. What other interesting things we can do in summer? Share your point of view!
